Advantix spot-on solution for dogs
Spot-on solution for dogs. Eliminates fleas, ticks and outdoor lice. Repels ticks, mosquitoes, sand flies and stable flies. Reduces the risk of transmission of leishmaniosis and ehrlichiosis in dogs.
Target species
Dogs
Active Ingredient
Each 0.4 ml pipette contains: 40 mg imidacloprid, 200 mg permethrin
Indications
For the treatment and prevention of flea infestation (C. anis, C. felis) and for the treatment of biting lice (Trichodectes canis) in dogs. Fleas present on the dog are killed within one day of treatment. A single treatment prevents further flea infestation for 4 weeks. The veterinary medicinal product can be used as part of a treatment strategy for flea allergy dermatitis (VAD).
The veterinary medicinal product has persistent acaricidal and repellent efficacy against tick infestations (R. anguineus and I. ricinus for 4 weeks and D. reticulatus for 3 weeks).
Through the vecortic R. sanguineus and kill, the veterinary medicinal product reduces the risk of infection with the pathogen Ehrlichia canis. This lowers the risk of ehrlichiosis in dogs. Studies have shown that the risk-reducing effect starts from three days after administration of the veterinary medicinal product. The effect lasts for 4 weeks.
Ticks already on the dog may not be killed within 2 days of treatment and may remain attached and visible. It is therefore recommended to remove ticks already on the dog at the time of treatment to prevent them from attaching and taking a blood meal.
One treatment provides a repellent (anti-feeding) effect against sand flies (Phlebotomus papatasi for 2 weeks and Phlebotomus perniciosus for 3 weeks), against mosquitoes ( A. aegypti) for 2 weeks and C. pipiens for 4 weeks) and against stable flies (S. calcitrans) for 4 weeks.
Reduction of the risk of infection with Leishmania infantum via transmission by sand flies (P. perniciosus) for a period of up to 3 weeks. The effect is indirectly due to the activity of the veterinary medicinal product against the vector.
Contraindications
Do not use in puppies less than 7 weeks old or 1.5 kg body weight.
Do not use in cats.
Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the active ingredients or to any of the excipients.
Dosage and administration
The recommended minimum dose is: 10 mg imidacloprid and 50 mg permethrin per kg body weight.
Method of administration:
Take one pipette from the package. Hold the pipette upright, twist and remove the cap. Put the cap back on upside down, twist to break the seal and remove the cap again.
While the dog is standing, press the hairs apart between the shoulder blades until the skin is visible. Place the open side of the pipette on the skin and squeeze the pipette firmly several times to empty the contents directly onto the skin.
Instructions for proper administration
For external use only. Apply only to undamaged skin. Do not apply too much in one place; otherwise, some of the solution may run off the dog's side.
